Job description
We are expanding our Finance team with an Accountant at our office in Sweden!
As an Accountant at Fast Track, this role sits at the core of the finance function, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s financial operations and reporting. The position plays a critical part in maintaining robust accounting practices, supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality financial insights, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Working closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, the role goes beyond transactional accounting to contribute to financial planning, performance analysis, and continuous improvement of processes. It also supports group-level reporting and consolidation activities, ensuring alignment across entities and enabling a clear, consolidated view of financial performance.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail, ownership of key accounting processes, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
Your responsibilities as an Accountant at Fast Track would include:
Financial Operations & Transaction Management
Oversee and manage accounts payable, including issuing payments and maintaining accurate transaction records
Handle day-to-day bookkeeping activities
Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data
General Ledger & Accounting Control
Maintain, update, and review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals
Ensure proper account classification and reconciliation across all ledgers
Financial Close & Reporting
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Provide insights and recommendations to support management decision-making
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
Produce variance analysis and provide commentary on financial performance
Support revenue projections and cash flow planning
Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
Compliance, Tax & Audit
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Prepare and submit tax filings (e.g. VAT)
Support audit preparation and liaise with auditors
Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices
Group Accounting & Consolidation
Support group accounting processes, including financial consolidation
Manage intercompany transactions and recharging processes
Process Improvement & Controls
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
Enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations
Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Support
Collaborate with internal teams (finance, payroll, HR, marketing) to ensure alignment
Partner with the Head of Finance on financial planning and strategic analysis
Job requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting in Sweden, with a demonstrated track record in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and Swedish tax laws.
Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in work.
Strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and verbal.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software (preferably QuickBooks and Visma) and use of spreadsheets.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently.
